Majlisul Ulama Norway is the ulama's dispute resolution body for talaq , khula cases. There are many imams who treat such applications in accordance with quran and sunnah. Majlisul Ulama Norway has worked in this field over 15 years in Norway.
Majlisul Ulama Norway (MUN) is a private organization that helps Muslim women who have received a legal divorce from the head of State, if their marriage is registered. And the husband refuses to give religious divorce / talaq, and thus the woman hangs in a relationship, which she does not want to be in.
The same applies where women only wear religious nikah, but are not registered with the Norwegian authorities. And wants to divorce her husband, who does not give her talaq. It is strictly forbidden in islam, to leave a woman hanging.
To do something about this, MUN has worked with such cases over 15 years.
We have experienced that many women have sent the case to us when they have argued with their husband, and when the situation calms down at home they withdraw the case. In other cases, we have experienced that the Proceedings of khula or annulment of nikah is initiated then they begin to change their minds, thus we are in an undesirable situation. Just so that only those who actually want to seek help from Majlisul ulama Norway and send the case to us, we have set the application fee to 5000 nok.
The procedure of MUN is the following: MUN gets application form from the affected party to get assistance according to Islamic theology. MUN is looking into the case and whether more people are needed to require more relevant documents, and that a one - time fee of nok 5,000 paid either via bank account or via Vipps. MUN writes 3 letters to the other counterparty, and a copy of this to the one who submitted the applicant.
After MUN has sent all 3 letters to the opposing party and if the case is still not resolved, then the entire MUN board gathers to look at the details and make a final decision in the case.
We have a duty of confidentiality in all matters that are put forward to us.
